Brass Boot Camp

Open Tone Music will be offering a FREE one-week boot camp August 4-11 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at The University of Akron - Guzetta Hall, located at 157 University Ave., Akron. The camp is for all students who play brass instruments and who are entering seventh through twelfth-grade for the 2017-2018 school year.

Space is limited. Registration is required by June 9.

Programming Partners

We currently provide instrumental music instruction and support for the following programs:
Cleveland Metropolitan School District All-City

CMSD All-City Arts is a district-wide after school and weekend program providing artistic and college readiness skills, which is produced by the Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s Department of Arts Education. All-City Arts collaborates with certified arts teachers, teaching artists and community arts partners to produce All-City Arts instruction, productions and events.

The Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland

Band Program in collaboration with Cuyahoga Community College. Music instruction takes place both at several Boys and Girls Club sites four days per week as well as Cuyahoga Community College Center for Creative Arts on saturdays. Students receive instruction in music theory, piano, and band instruments.

Jones Rd Family Development Literacy Through the Arts Program

Literacy through the arts is a summer program which uses reading, art, music, dance and drama to empower and nurture families, advance education, and encourage active involvement in building community.

REACH Summer Enrichment Program

The REACH Summer Enrichment Program at University School is a 5-week program for academically talented African-American middle school boys. Interested students must apply in their 5th grade year. Students accepted in to the REACH Program must remain enrolled for three consecutive summers and commit to attend ongoing activities, events and workshops during the traditional school year.

Lakewood Jazz Jam

The Lakewood Summer Jazz Jam’s purpose is to provide a unique experience for middle and high school students through the study of American music. The students will focus mainly on improvisation, but will also learn about the history of jazz, music theory, and will perform in a large ensemble and small group.

Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, Jazz Discovery Series

This concert series is free and open to the public with the help of Playhouse Square. Additionally we partner with The Cleveland Jazz Orchestra to provide educational programing.
